Paint the Town ~ Loveland Ohio

Hello, This week is Paint the Town in Loveland Ohio. I have participated in this event for the last 5 or 6 years. It isn't a plein air event, you can take photos and paint from home. On Sunday we will have a wet paint sale from 2-4 so if you are near Loveland please stop by. Loveland is a cute quaint town with outdoor cafes and a bicycle trail runs right through town so it's a busy little place. I took photos and started this 10 x 20 here at home and then spent most of Tuesday in town working on it and went down to the park there and painted the little 6 x 6 of Cone flowers. I may only have these 2 as I am pretty busy this week with so many other things. I will be hanging in Kidd Coffee here in Mason for July, August and September, I'll post some photos after I hang. If I don't post before the 4th, have a wonderful holiday and be safe. Hugs

Tulips

Hi there, I painted this a few days ago and really enjoyed myself. This is acrylic on a 10 x 20, 1 1/2" deep canvas. As you can see I ran some of the pattern over onto the edge and it will not be framed. I used a palette knife to paint most of it and splattered it. I will use hooks and run a wire on the stretcher bars so it hangs flat on the wall. I am painting in a garden on Saturday in Lebanon Ohio. This is a fundraiser and I'll be donating 10% of my sales to the event. I'll be painting from 11-2, join us if you are near there, 203 E. Orchard St. Take a look at some of my paintings on Ebay So good of you to visit

Kings Mansion

Hello there, This painting is in acrylics and painted from a reference photo I took last week while walking around the grounds of the Kings mansion. This house is in Kings Mills Ohio. Kings Mills is now the home of the amusement park called Kings Island but the little old community has lots of history. It was a company town and the gentleman that owned this house basically owned the town. The business that kept the town going was a ammunition factory on the edge of town but that building no longer exists. However just on the other side of the river is the Peter's Catridge company, a huge old basically vacant building. Peter's Cartride Co. was a massive munitions factory that made bullets and cannonballs for the Union army during the civil war. It was a target for Morgan Raiders but rumor has it they missed Kings Mills completely in 1863 during their trip through Ohio. Anyway there is your history lesson for the day.lol Here is a photo of my painting, a small portion of the side of the house and a photo of Peter's factory as it looks today. Little acrylic sketches

Hi there, My hubby and I went camping for a couple of nights this week and I took along my acrylics and watercolor paper. Often while we are camping I paint something in the campground but this time I took photos and painted on the picnic table outside our camper. I used the acrylics like watercolors and really enjoyed doing these. I will probably use them for gift tags or maybe attach them to a card. Hope you enjoy seeing them. Another dress

Hello there, Really having a great time painting these little dresses. This is another one loaned to me by a friend in my painting group. I enjoy the backgrounds too trying to keep them simple yet interesting. This is acrylic on a 11 x 14 canvas. She even loaned me her wedding dress to paint, I am working on that one now. Check out my Ebay auctions Good to see you, thanks for your visit. :)
