Silver Teapot

Hi there, I really have a thing for teapots and if you have followed me for a while I bet you knew that. When I am antiquing or in a thrift store I am always drawn toward them but I really don't need anymore, lol This old silver teapot came from a antique shop and though it is a little dented I knew it would make a great prop. I think pears work well with any set up, my go to fruit, lol This is acrylic on a 8 x 10 stretched canvas. Playing around with my new Golden Opens, I like that they don't dry as quickly so you can blend them however they aren't quite like oils. Oils are creamy and you tell these are water based. I just used them to paint a background in a still life, one of the things I struggle with using traditional acrylics. I'll keep using them and report back again before too long. Check out my Ebay auctions Have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting me.

View of the Lake

Hello Friends, I painted this from a reference photo I took while camping last year. I looked through my reference photos for a scene I could paint in this style. I wanted it to be colorful and for the viewer to see the strokes. Thisi acrylics on a 8" X 10" stretched canvas. I enjoy looking at it, hope you do too. I recently ordered a selection of Golden Open acrylics. I haven't received them yet but I'll report back on how I like them. They say you can work with them for up to 3 hours I think and it takes 24 hours for them to dry on your canvas. Not sure I will like them for detail work where I go over and over things but for backgrounds that I want modeled or maybe subjects like this? Please check out my Ebay auctions Have a wonderful day

A New Home

Hi there, I have worked on this one for a while and it's finished and varnished. I took it for a critique with my group because I felt it needed something other than just the bird, nest and branch. They suggested the addition of buds and I think that made it feel just right. This is acrylic on a 8" X 10" stretched canvas. I had a busy day yesterday. I painted plein air in the morning and painted last night at a local gallery. Then I came home and painted some more, lol. Do you think that maybe I like to paint? lol I have always joked that if I couldn't paint with my hands I would paint with my feet, and I would. Check out some of my Ebay auctions , lots of paintings reduced. Thanks for visiting me and please take time to comment. Hugs

Poppy!

Hi there! This is one big poppy isn't it? I had such fun playing with the background I didn't want to cover it up completely. I applied a circle pattern with gel and then I put different colors on the canvas, hit it with a mister and swirled the colors around. I love the effect, kind of a watercolor look. I'm just wild and crazy these days, lol. Painting is so exciting, there are endless things to paint and endless techniques to try. Check out my Ebay auctions please Forgot to mention this is painted on a 8" x 10" stretched canvas and is available to purchase. Thanks for visiting

More Flowers

Hi, Only been a few days since I posted but I paint paint paint so I have so many you haven't seen. This one was fun, it has lots of wonderful texture in it. I used a palette knife and gel medium to get the texture. I have so many wonderful silk flowers, I stick them in a block of foam to hold them in place. It's a treat when I get fresh flowers but the silks are pretty good. This is 11" x 14" and it is acrylic, I like the simplicity of this, hope you do. Check out my Ebay auctions please. Field of Poppies

Hi there, I think I am finished with this one, not yet signed though. It is acrylic on a 24" x 30" deep canvas. I did something a bit unusual with this one. I taped off a diamond pattern all over the canvas and applied gel medium and it created a raised pattern. From a distance you really don't see it but I think it adds another interesting element to it. I have been painting these larger pieces for a model home I display in. Really enjoying the acrylics still, I can do so many interesting things with them and used traditionally I think they look pretty much like oils. Please take a look at my Ebay auctions

Grazing

Hello, I painted this one recently for a competition in August, it is 12" x 36" deep canvas. The edges are painted so it will not be framed. Here are two photos showing the whole canvas and then a shot showing some of the painting up close. Not sure of the title so I'm open to suggestions. Please check out my Ebay auctions. I dropped off 2 paintings this morning for The Evendale Fine Arts Show, the opening is this Friday from 6-9. Please stop by if you live near Evendale Ohio. So great of you to stop by, please keep checking in on me.
