Hi, Tried something different on this one. I toned the canvas with burnt sieanna and allowed that color to show through on the finished painting. I think it gives it an impressionistic feel. This is oil on a 8 X 10 stretched canvas. Thanks for all the very nice feedback on my last post, the painting of my grandson. I appreciate all of the people that visit my blog and I am always very excited when I see a new comment.

My Grandson
Hi there, I took this photo several weeks ago of my grandson after a ball game. He sat down and turned his hat around. I took the first photo and he grinned and said "cheese", then he relaxed and put his hand up to block the sun and I took this one. You get much better photos if people aren't posing I think. This is oil on a 8 X 10 stretched canvas. Hope you are enjoying your day!

Landscape
Hello, I painted this from a photo I took in the park near here, I really like this panoramic view. This canvas measures 8" X 16" on a stretched canvas. Fall is really wonderful this year, I hoped it would be with such a wet summer. Drove around yesterday taking photos, the sun was out and the colors were breathtaking. Hopefully I have some good painting references. Enjoy your day!

Pumpkin
Hi there, I painted this pumpkin for a decorating contest next weekend. It was really fun and different. So much work into something that will rot, lol. It is oils so hopefully it will be dry in time, if not I have a pumpkin to use here or take to the grandchildren. It is a large pumpkin and a bit heavy to move around, after I finished I thought "hey a lazy susan would have worked great for this". I recommend painting a pumpkin, you should try it. Have a good day!
Just wanted to let you know my pumpkin took a ribbon for scariest pumpkin, wooooooo

Landscape
Hi there, This is oil on a 8 x 10 stretched canvas, painted from a photo I took north of here. Lots of nice texture in this, I seem to use a palette knife more all the time as I especially like the great texture I get in the foreground. I have several possible commissions in the works, I guess I will get them all at once and be crazy busy closer to Christmas. Oh well, glad to have them. Back to the studio. Have a great day!

Waiting Patiently
Hi, I worked on this the last few days and it may be finished. This was painted from a photo I took recently, I really liked the gals hat and all the extra things tied to her handbag. This is oil on a 8 X 10 Raymar panel. Not sure of the name yet, maybe you can help me. Of course "Waiting Patiently" is one option, another is "Making Plans" or maybe you have a good suggestion. I am considering entering this into a juried show at the end of the month, maybe???

Old School House
Hi there, I painted this from a photo I took while out one day. This actually is an old school house, love the light on it. I like the soft loose feel it has, half way through I almost wiped it off but you have to hang in there. I have been enjoying using a palette knife a lot lately, I used a knife in the foreground and laid the paint on fairly heavy. One thing nice about oils you can lay in some heavy paint and create great texture. This is oil on a 8 X 10 stretched canvas.
