Daisies
Hi there, I enjoyed this one so much. I first attached crumpled tissue paper to the canvas with gel medium and coated it with medium. After that dried I applied different colors of glazes, then I painted my daisies. I use a block of foam and push my silk daises in to arrange them as I want before I paint them. Even though they are white I used a variety of colors to make them interesting. There is a bit of palette knife work in there too. This is acrylic on a 8 x 10 stretched canvas. I have included a cropped photo of part of the canvas so you can see the texture.
Thanks for visiting me, it means a lot to me. Please take time to comment. Have a wonderful day

Making Changes ~ Video attached
Hi there, I decided to work on a painting that I felt was completed and recorded the changes, you may remember it. The painting with the bird is how is it now and I like it so much better. Hope you do too. One photo shows the painting before and then after. Hope the link to the video works.

Still life
Hello, I painted this yesterday. I took these props along and painted this while hanging with my Monday painting group. This is acrylic on a 8 x 10 stretched canvas. I started on a black canvas again, if you haven't tried it you should. I keep looking at this trying to decide if the flowers are too light, what do you think?
Have a good day, please visit again.

1954 Chevy Truck
Hi All, I was told this was a 1954 Chevy Truck. All I know is I liked it. I took the photo last year up in Yellow Springs Ohio while we were camping near there. This was quite challenging to get the proportions right. I don't know much about trucks or cars but my hubby kept critiquing me, lol. This is acrylics on a 8 x 10 stretched canvas and is available to purchase. Contact me at barbarapask@zoomtown.com for info.

The opening of the Shakespeare show
Well tonight was the opening of the "Shakespeare" show at a local gallery. There was so many ways you could go with this and I had a great time with this subject. I purchased a copy of Midsummer Nights Dream on Ebay dated about 1910. I took the little book apart and attached it all over a 24" x 30" 1 1/2" deep canvas. I used a gel medium and created some nice texture. I wanted the painting to be fantasy based, as you can see the painting is very blue. I tried not to cover all of the print as I painted my image in acrylics. There is texture at the bottom applied with a stencil and metallic gold paint on the edges. I titled it "Awakened from a Dream". There were 2 judges choice awards, a second place and of course Best of Show. I didn't win anything but I really enjoyed painting the piece, great to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. The show will hang for about a month so maybe it will sell. Here I am standing by the painting tonight at the opening. Email me at barbarapask@zoomtown.com if you might be interested in purchasing the piece if it lasts through the show.

Pet Portraits #3 Cat
Hello there, A cat, #3 in my series. I am working on the next one, a dog. This is acrylic on a 10" x 10" stretched canvas with painted edges. I painted this same cat last year on a small canvas, this is one intense kitty, lol. I always enjoy painting white, putting in variations of purples and blues.
Good news, my painting was accepted into a competition in a local gallery near here, Shakespeare is the theme.
