My favorite paintings of 2019
I picked out some of my favorite paintings from this year and grouped them together here. I tried to go through and count the number of paintings I did this year, I believe it’s about 60 or so. Of course I do paint small ones for shows and I didn’t complete anything larger than an 16” x 20” this year. Here’s to the new year, wishing all of you a happy healthy artful new year. Hugs

Boots
Hi there! I’ve been very busy. I have several pet commissions going at once and I’ve also been painting on YouTube some. Not complaining at all, hoping I’ll get a lot more pet commissions as the holiday gets closer. This is a pair of my hubby’s boots, they were a lot of fun to paint, they’re oil on a 8” x 10” panel. Painted on YouTube if you search by my name, can’t seem to get links to post on here anymore. Have a good day!

Plein Air
Hi! Hubby and I visited Hocking County Ohio this week and stayed several nights in this sweet cabin. The weather was so nice I decided to set up and paint the cabin. I recorded and posted the video to YouTube, I’ll try my best to post the link here but you can find me by searching my name. So good of you to visit me. ❤️

Grandmas chalkware rooster
Hi Friends! This was painted from life looking at a set up of this old rooster that belonged to my grandmother. This is oil on a linen panel, I find I prefer the hard surface to paint on. This was painted for an event in September, I have others in the works.
Painting outside Saturday in a plein air competition, hope I can handle the heat, whew!
Stay cool!

Robins Nest
Hello! This little painting is oil on a 6” x 6” linen panel, it’s available on my website with free shipping. BarbaraPask.com I love the color of robins eggs and tried hard to match it, I think I came pretty close. I painted outside today, just perfect weather, we have been waiting for warm dry weather here in Ohio. So good of you to stop by.

New website
Hi Friends, I took on the monumental task of creating a website. This is a Faso site and I did have one several years ago. It really hasn’t been too bad, I have a batch of small paintings on and I’ll go from there. I still plan to blog but I thought I would put more of my work in one place to people to view and hopefully purchase. Check it out. Barbarapask.com
Thank you!

Painted still life’s with my group
Hello, today I took a box of props and set up a low table with a light and several different set ups. There were five of us painting around the table. It’s an interesting perspective, you can paint the subject closet to you or really anything on the table. I am trying to slow my process down. I did a thumbnail sketch and toned my canvas then sketched on my set up and wiped out my lights. I even pre mixed my colors today, something I do not normally do. This is water mixable oils on a 8” x 10” panel, I just did this for practice. Excuse the glare.

Gift for a friend
Hello, I recently painted this little sweet dog for an online friend, this is her holding up the painting. I painted it from a screenshot, I loved how his little ear folded down. As it turned out right about the time I shipped it she had to have another one of her dogs put down. This arrived a few days later and I think it gave her some comfort. I love what I do and it’s nice once in a while to give it away, I know how much she appreciates it. I took this screenshot of her holding it up as crazy me forgot to photograph it.

Playing Around
Cold day here today, stayed in and got things together for my show at Northminster on Saturday. I applied a leaf texture to the canvas and then I painted the bird using Golden Opens. Golden Opens are acrylic with a much slower drying time, I think they look a lot like oils. Planning to try some new things this year, I want to offer something a bit different from my traditional oils.
Stay warm 🥶
