Hi, I painted this a few days ago, it will be a gift for my sister and her family. This is their dog that passed away several months ago. I think they will be very pleased. I painted it on a 10 x 10 stretched canvas and painted the edges. I am going to wait until it is dry enough to varnish and then surprise them with it.

What a cutie
Hi there, I painted this yesterday at my lesson and worked on it a bit more last night. This is an image from Wetcanvas, I like how he has his mouth pulled to the side. This is oil on a 8 X 10 canvas panel. I am doing a plein air event tomorrow, Saturday. The event is hosted bye OPAS, which is Ohio Plein Air Society. I'm not a member but it's open to everyone, it will be at a sweet town called Milford. Only one day so hopefully I'll complete a painting that will be worthy of selling at the wet paint sale. Have a great weekend

Shopping with the Wife
Hi, Haven't signed this yet, not quite sure I am finished. This is oil on a 9 X 12 stretched canvas. In the photograph I took the man and dogs were in the shade of a tree with dappled light, I worked with that for a while and then wiped it out. I had Susan Carlin take a look at the painting and she wondered where the shadows were. So I worked on it more and added back the shadow of the tree and some of the dappled light. Who knows, this painting stuff is hard. lol. Options for a title are, Shopping with the Wife, I'll wait here for you honey, Taking a Break??? Any other ideas. Have a good day

Good Morning
Hi there, I painted this a couple of weeks ago from an image on Wetcanvas. This little blond has her pink robe on so I thought the name was appropriate. I was thinking this could be Christmas morning if I could figure out a way to reflect Christmas lights in her eyes, hmmm. What do you think, how would I do that? This is oil on a 8 X 10 canvas panel.

Portrait
Hi there, This is a portrait I started at my lesson last week and then finished on my own. My teacher Chuck Marshall pointed out an interesting thing I was doing with my brush. I would load my brush and then lay the paint on and then stroke it a second time. I never realized I was doing that, so great to find out. When you are laying down that final stroke you want it clean and I was pushing it into the paint underneath which muddies it up. I am enjoying my lessons with him and I think it has been very helpful. This is oil on a 8 X 10 canvas panel.
