A Large Commission
Hi! I have been working on a large painting, large for me anyway. This is oil on a 36" X 48" deep canvas and will not be framed. It was fun setting it up, the client brought some of her favorite pieces over and then I added a lot of my items. I photographed the set up and waited for her approval. I sketched it on in charcoal and then covered the canvas with thin paint getting all the shapes and values in. I just tackled one item at a time working my way around the canvas. She stopped by yesterday to see if, I felt I had done all I could do and wanted to see if she wanted anything changed. She loved it! Whew. I signed it and painted the edges and now it dries, I'll deliver it to her and hang it soon. I think it will look great on her wall. I love the touches of red, so glad we went with red tulips.

Milford Ohio
A few weeks ago I went out to paint with my Tuesday group in Milford Ohio. Milford is a sweet town with lots of old charming homes. This is oil on a 8" X 10" linen panel.
Just back from NC, I attended a 3 day workshop with Roger Bansemer. Roger is on PBS, you may have caught his show. He paints plein air and travels around with his wife Sara. It was such fun meeting Roger, Sara and their cute dog. The workshop was geared more toward acrylic painters as all of his demos were in acrylic. I enjoyed myself and met lots of nice people.

Plein air painting
Hi! I have going outside to paint quite a bit lately. It's always challenging and sometimes you come home with a painting you like. I painted this fancy chicken coop on location and came home and added the chickens later. This is oil on a 8" X 10" linen panel.
I just signed up for a workshop with Roger Bansemer for the end of this month in North Carolina. Hubby is going along and planning to do some fly fishing. We are taking our new camper, I'm excited.
Thanks for visiting. ❤️

Landscape
Hi Friends! I gave myself a specific task with this one. I toned the canvas first which I rarely do but should. I toned it with burnt sienna, I really like to use a warm tone when I am outside painting all those greens. After I toned I worked with larger bristle brushes to block in my large shapes. I then switched to softer brushes to lay the details on top. I'm pleased with it, I really like seeing the burnt sienna peeking through everywhere.

Love old houses
Hi there! Sorry I haven't posted lately, no good excuse. This is a recent painting that I did from one of my reference photos. This is oil on a 8" X 10" canvas. Although I love to paint everything old houses hold a special place in my heart. I am considering painting this one on a much larger canvas.

Tiny works of art
Hi there! Something a little different here. I painted these little necklaces and it was such fun. They are painted on 1 1/2" hand turned wood disks and sealed with three coats of varnish. I attached antique brass hangers that are lead free and then added black cords to hang them from. Doubled the cord measure 12" so they hang fairly long. I am offering four different ones this time although the group photos show others. I am offering them for $25 plus $5 shipping anywhere within the continental US. One is called "Sunflower", one is Van Goghs "Starry Night" , one is a "Landscape" and the mother and child is from a painting by "Potthast" you can purchase them through PayPal with a buy now option. Email me with any questions. Most are signed on the back because of the size and are all dated. Have a wonderful day.
