Blue & White Pitcher with Pears 8 X 10 Oil
Hi Everyone, I had a painting lesson today. Even with the holidays upon us I told my teacher if she's open I'm there. I think she's pleased to have me as a student. I never miss and I love to paint. Some of her students only paint when they attend a lesson. I have this theory that the more I paint the sooner I'll become a "great artist", lol. I have my dreams, a good thing I think. Always appreciate your feedback. Have a wonderful safe New Years. Barb SOLD

Ironstone Pitcher 8 X 10 Oil
I starting painting seriously in July of 2006, then last winter I switched from acrylics to oils. I painted this pitcher last winter, not this painting though. It was one of the first things I painted in oils. I just did the painting I'm posting last week and I compared it to the painting I did last winter of it. I feel pleased with my progress, the first one was flat in comparison. Let me know how you think I'm doing, appreciate your feedback. Thanks for stopping by. Barb

African Violets 10"X 20" Oil
Here is a photo of my somewhat messy studio, thought I'd post it as I always find it interesting to see other artist's studios. On the easel are three of my newest paintings. I'm also posting a close up of the 10" X 20" African violet painting. I need to invest in a better camera as you can see, my pictures aren't great. Later I'll post the other paintings on the easel when I get better photos of them for you. Appreciate your comments. Thanks, Barb

Sunflowers in blue & white 8X10 oil
This is a still life I did at my Monday morning painting group. More sunflowers, love them. I used a palette knife to lay the paint on heavy on the flowers. I don't take a screen and light with me, too much stuff to carry already. So I just have to do my best with the light. How'd I do? Another subject, I spend too much time on the internet but I'm hooked. I check out dailypainters.com everyday and from there you can check out the artist's blogs and when you bring up their comments you can click on the names there and it just goes on and on. I look at art for hours on end. Appreciate your comments. Thanks so much, Barb

Sunflowers & Copper
Hi There! I used an old copper container for this still life, don't know what it was used for. I added sunflowers and a little glass dish that I have. I thought the blue looked great with the sunflowers. I'm really working on light and shadows. To me an interesting painting has great light and shadows. I love the still lifes where things fade into the shadows, I'm working on that. Hope you enjoy it and please let me know what you think. Thanks so much, Barb

Antique Jug & Apples
Hello, This still life consists of an old antique jug that I have and apples. I tried to make it feel that the apples were in the light. I'm really enjoying painting still lifes . Do you think I'm improving? How are my folds on the tablecloth? I would appreciate your critiques. Happy Thanksgiving. Barb

Hello there, I'm posting a painting of one of my grandsons. I painted it from a photo of him but wasn't as much concerned about it looking like him as getting the proportions right. I loved the photo of him on the scooter with the helmet on. Let me know how you think I did, I haven't painted many people. Thanks so much, Barb

Hi, I'm posting two new paintings today. The first painting I did at my lesson last week, I haven't painted much water or reflections. The second is one of my old ironstone pitchers with silk sunflowers, I added paint to the petals with a palette knife at the end. I appreciate any feedback you might have for me, be nice, lol. I use a palette of a warm and cool of each primary plus white. Thanks, Barb SOLD

Hello, I'm posting a painting today that I did at a workshop in October. I took a plein air workshop with Chuck Marshall. I painted this the first day and was pretty pleased with it. The second day I tried to paint his way and struggled all day. He paints very loose and I'm normally pretty tight. He does make a soup to paint with that was interesting. It greys down your painting and hopefully makes it more uniform. He has a certain way to make it so it's a colorful soup. I did paint a river scene yesterday at my lesson that I'll post soon, it came out quite well. Haven't done much water but the reflections look good, watch for it. Think I'll walk in the park today and take some pictures, the fall colors are the best they'll be this year. Hopefully something will inspire me. Thanks for checking in, always love to hear your comments. Barb SOLD

Hi there, Here is one of the paintings I listed on Ebay tonight. I set this still life up and thought it came out very nice. I used a palette knife to add some nice texture to the copper container. I love old things and have quite a collection of antique items. I'm still trying to find myself, not sure if at some point I need to paint only still lifes or only landscapes. I painted outside today, it was frosty and I kept my gloves on until the last minute and I never took off my earmuffs, brrrr. Let me know if you like my set up or any other suggestions you might have. Thanks so much! SOLD
You can find my auctions on Ebay by entering Pask in the search box, still trying to figure out how to link you there, I will eventually, lol.

Love To Paint
Hi Everyone, I'm new to this but very excited about it. I hope to post paintings every few days or so. I would appreciate any feedback on my paintings as I'm still learning and always will be. I started painting with oil over last winter and love it. I'm taking lessons and I probably paint four or five paintings a week. I'm trying to loosen up but from what I understand most painters are. See you soon. Barb
