Hello there. This is one of the plein air paintings I did this summer. The car was quite the mess with the windows out, I tried to make it interesting with warms and cools. This is oil on a 8 X 10 stretched panel and is available to purchase.
I went out this morning to paint, tried it for a bit and the heat ran me off. It is supposed to cool off a bit for the weekend. I am doing a plein air event on Saturday with the Ohio Plein Air Society, should be fun.
In a recent post I told you I had two paintings hanging in the Cincinnati art museum for a temporary display, it was great to be there and to top it off the museum is feeding us lunch on Friday and I get 2 passes for the year. They didn't have to give us anything, just hanging there is an honor.
Happy painting and stay cool

We're all painting trucks and cars! I love it.
Thanks for coming over to my blog and leaving a comment.
This is a cool piece.
I love old, beat up, rusted trucks. They make for such a good subject. You've rendered this great. Congratulations for the opportunity to hang in the museum.
Really nice painting with an interesting subject! Well done!
HI Mary, It is funny how a lot of people seem to painting them right now. They are interesting.
Hi Lokelani, Thank you, I really wanted it to be painterly.
Thanks so much Linda, very different subject for me. I love old things though.
Ok, you're not going to believe this but I've got an old truck photograph I've said I'm going to paint someday. Not today though. Yours is lovely, Barbara.
Tis the season for old truck and car paintings Carol, lol. Look forward to seeing yours. Thanks for you visit Carol :)
What a beautiful old wreck you've painted here Barbara. I really like the way you done the warms and cools - it's made a vibrant painting.
Glad you like it Liz, I was trying to make an old rusty truck look interesting.
