Peonies in a Green Vase
Hello, I painted this on Monday while with my group, I brought it home and made a few adjustments as you always do and I like it very much. This is a very old wonderful green vase that belonged to my mother and I treasure it. It is kind of a gray green and I think I matched the color. I played with the peonies a lot adding pinks and blues and using my palette knife for texture. One of the adjustments I made was to blue down the back flower so it would recede. It is oil on a 8 x 10 stretched canvas.

Just a whisper of colour makes this painting perfect! The soft blurred edges contribute to this delicate feeling, Barbara! Your subject is ideal for a large painting!
Thank you very much Marie, such kind words. I may think about painting it larger. I really like working wet into wet so I would have to work quickly. Nice to see you.
very nice. Do I see a slight hint of pink in the petals. It's a good idea to have that in there to vibrate against the greens. Keep up the good work!
You do Mary, quite a bit of pink and blue. I love painting white, you can do so much with it.
