Poppies ~ mixed media
Hello there, This is my newest piece, large for me. This is a 24" X 30" deep gallery canvas that will not be framed. I applied some paper with script first, hopefully you can see that in the close up photo. I am displaying work in a model home and wanted to do some paintings that are somewhat larger, I plan to do more. I really enjoyed myself and I hope you enjoy seeing it.

New still life and good news
Hello Friends, The good news is my painting "Ginger" was accepted into the 120th annual juried Cincinnati Women's Art Club show this year. I loved painting this dog, the dog was back lit in the photo and I think that really added something to it, I love the glow on the edge of his nose. 12" x 12" acrylic.
This still life painting was just completed, drying in my studio now with a coat of varnish. A fun mix of elements. I applied a patterned paper first and then painted the copper pot and vase. I added the birds last, the little bird in front is my focal point as he is the brightest and most detailed thing. I hope your eye goes from him to the bird on the vase and the bird on top. I also felt the branch of blossoms kept your eye moving around. I think a lot more about design these days as I should, this painting stuff is hard, lol. 16" x 20" acrylic.

Bicentennial Barn
Hi there, This painting was just accepted into the "Healing Arts" show at the McCullough-Hyde Hospital. The show will hang for a year and open April 19th with a reception. The hospital will purchase up to six of the paintings included in the show so my fingers are crossed that they will purchase mine. This painting was painted from one of my reference photos, this barn is the only Bicentennial barn in Warren County Ohio. This is acrylic on a 11 x 14 canvas and framed in a black 3" frame. These barns are all throughout Ohio. Please check out some of my paintings on Ebay

Poppies ~ mixed media
Hi! I know it is hard to see from the photo but this is a mixed media piece. I first applied acid free paper with musical notes and some of that shows through here and there. This painting began as yellow daffodils and I just wasn't feeling them. I went back in and painted poppies over them and left some of the yellow here and there. I like it so much better now, I try not to let it bother me when a painting doesn't work and try to use it as a learning experience. As I type this I know that isn't quite true, I think as artists we want them all to turn out. I have to admit I sleep better at night when I have a good day painting, lol. Crazy, huh? I know you understand if you paint. I have started a new larger still life, I applied a patterned paper to the canvas first. I am having so much fun with mixed media, can you tell? Check out some of my paintings on Ebay. Have a good day and hurry back

Nesting
Hi, Springtime is here, the clocks changed last night and it is staying light later and I like it. I know it can be difficult for folks that get out really early in the morning but I try hard not to do that, lol. Anyway here is a nesting bird in honor of spring. I think crows are such interesting birds, I understand they are very intelligent also. This is painted on a 8 x 10 stretched canvas. Please check out my Ebay listings.
So wonderful to have you stop by ~ have a good day.

Sunflowers & Postcards
Hi there, This painting is a mixed media piece. I first attached acid free paper that has old postcards printed on it, I cut it up and added sections to it with gel medium. I set up my sunflowers and painted them with acrylic, adding a few splatters at the end. I added a cropped photo of the painting so you can see some of the background. I always love painting sunflowers, I tried to make these very interesting adding different shades of yellow and oranges. This is painted on a 11 x 14 stretched canvas. I can't wait until I can go out into my yard and cut some fresh flowers to paint. Spring is almost here, I sure hope so anyway, lol.
I hope you are enjoying your day. :)
