Grandmas chalkware rooster
Hi Friends! This was painted from life looking at a set up of this old rooster that belonged to my grandmother. This is oil on a linen panel, I find I prefer the hard surface to paint on. This was painted for an event in September, I have others in the works.
Painting outside Saturday in a plein air competition, hope I can handle the heat, whew!

Beautifully painted, Barbara. I think all our mom's and grandmothers had at least one rooster ornament. lol I still have a green and white glass rooster(I know...odd!) from my Mom. Although it's glass I would like the challenge of painting it..SOMEDAY. Enjoy your evening...
