Teapot & Pear

Hello, I painted another teapot, I have quite a collection of them and just love painting them. Can you tell? lol The painting was painted on a black toned canvas again, I really like the effect you get, bits of the black showing through the finished painting. The is acrylic on a 8 x 10 stretched canvas. Please check out some of my paintings on Ebay I am so ready for Spring, really really cold temps here. It will be here soon enough, I guess. Have a wonderful day and stay warm.

Pet Portraits

Hi, I am putting together a grouping of pet portraits with the hopes of hanging them in a local vets office for commissions. I think it is good for both of us, they get their office decorated and hopefully I get some commissions out of it. I thought I would paint 3 dogs and maybe a cat, thought that would make a nice display. If you would like your pet painted email me at barbarapask@zoomtown.com for details. I am offering them on these 10" x 10" stretched canvases, they are 7/8" deep with painted edges. I will paint one pet, preferably a close up for $70, free shipping within the continental US. Please check out some of my artwork on Ebay Have a wonderful day

Dressed for the Party

Hi there, I ordered some new acrylic paints recommended by Roger Bansemer. They are called Tri-Art and he felt they were the closest thing to oils he had found in acrylics. I used them a bit today and I think I like them, I will continue to use them and let you know how it goes. For years I only used oils and just could not understand why anyone would use acrylics. Boy have I changed my mind about them over the last several months. I use a sponge in my palette box along with palette paper that you soak so I can mix colors and they stay wet for me. Using them on my canvas is all about technique and I use them pretty much like oils starting with my darks etc. You can layer and layer with them very quickly and you can go back in and add soft edges. I don't expect to change your mind if you love oils and I do still love oils but for now I am on this acrylic journey so to speak. This painting is acrylic on a 8 x 10 canvas, the original reference came from Paint my Photo but I only used it for inspiration changing most everything about it. This makes me think of a little girl dressed up and Mom says, "don't get dirty" and she sits looking patiently out the window waiting to go. I like the simplicity of it, hope you do too. Sunflowers & Wine

Hi there, Well the holidays are over and it's time to get back to some serious painting, my Monday group met this morning and it was so great to get back together after our little break. I painted this one a while back and just varnished it. This is acrylic on a 16 x 20 stretched canvas. I painted a dog this morning, I'll share that one soon. I have my painting completed for the Shakespeare show and when it gets closer I'll show you that one, I feel pretty excited about it. Have a wonderful day.
I am back on Ebay, check out my auctions.
