Landscape, re-worked
Hi, I posted this recently and after taking some of Frank Gardner's very much appreciated advice I made some changes. He suggested I needed to darken the path behind the orange sunlight and add more detail in the foreground. I added more detail in the path in front and lots of trees in the foreground. Check out the painting before here and let me know if you think the changes improved it. This is in oil on a 11 X 14 canvas panel. I am taking another workshop Saturday and Sunday, I won't come home with anything complete the workshop is supposed to give you great starts. See you soon. Barb

Hi Kim, glad you stopped by and thank your for the nice comment.
Barbara,
The foreground details really make this! I love the blue trees and the blue in the cast shadows. They really contrast with the complementary orange and it makes this much more exciting!
Thank you Neetzy, love to hear that. So hard to know when a piece is finished. How goes the portrait?
Barbara,
I'm still working on the portrait. I am almost ready to post it as a WIP. I only have a photo of the gentleman from the knees up so I have to have him standing in tall grass. I have been working on the background which I do like. I had to stop working on Rex because I need to let the paint dry up a bit before I add more detail.
I'll watch for you to post it. Have you had a chance to watch Davethepaintingguy or Susan Carlin, she normally paints every Sunday. She inspired me try portraits, might give you some ideas if you need help.
Can't wait to hear about your workshop experience. I missed you today and now I know why!
Hi Susan, I missed you too. I viewed the tape when I got in. You know I would have been there if I could.
