Up on the hill

Hi there, Over new years we were visiting some friends over in southeastern Ohio, a rural area with lots of old houses. I took this reference photo while driving along, I loved the photo immediately. Loved the curve in the road and of course the old house at the top of the hill. This is oil on a 11 x 14 stretched canvas. I have a art show on February 6th so I have this framed and ready to go. I use these gold crackled frames from Dick Blick most of the time. I think they work well with all subjects. Enjoy your day!

I love the rhythm in this painting as well as the feeling that the observer is moving forward, Barbara!

Barbara, very nice blog! I love this OH landscape. You've captured the rural OH feel here. And I like the crackle frames too. Have you ever used the gold crackle floater frames? Those are my favorite.

Hi Deb, So happy to have you visit and I'm glad you like this piece. I'm not familiar with the floater frames, have to check those out.

I like this one too. It would be fun just to wander around the countryside and paint these farm houses.

Hi Bill, It would but only if the weather was perfect and there was no wind or bugs, lol. I don't want much.
