Landscape, Oil 8 X 10

Hi again, I did part of this at my lesson yesterday, came home made some changes and added the bridge. I think it has a nice feel to it, may have to tinker around with it a bit more. See you soon. Barb

Love the pear in the boat, - the colour glows and the effect of silver, especially on that inside lip, is really neat. I read one book which basically said metallic effects depend on the unnatural degree of contrast with the surrounding hues (or words to that effect.)

Also like the quiet bridge painting.
Made a rough start on oils after a long, long time with a sketch of the snow that came this morning.
I need a new set of brushes...!

Hi Julie, Glad you stopped by. Thank you for your nice comments. Fun and challenging to paint reflective objects. Barb

Wow..beautiful piece, Barb! Those two foreground trees stand out just right from the bridge and background.

I agree with Dean, I like the foreground trees. They are very well done.

*Love* the sky in this and the way it reflects in the water. Very atmospheric and beautiful!
