Different Strokes

Hi, Karin Jurick has started this new blog called Different strokes for different folks. I think it's a great idea, every Wednesday she posts a new photograph on her blog and invites all of us to paint it. I'm honored to paint one of her photographs, thinking about her painting the same image. There is link to her in my list of blogs if you would like to check it out. Here is the image she posted yesterday and I thought I'd give it a go. I think it is interesting to see all of the different ways different artists paint the same thing. This is in oil on a 8 X 10 canvas panel. This Sunday is the Mason arts festival, 3rd annual. I have two pieces in to be juried, wish me luck. I'll be busy all weekend, I'll be there all day Saturday, taking in the art and then helping hang it and then volunteering again on Sunday.

This is one of the best I've seen! Very loose. You captured the moment, the spirit of the man. That's what painting is all about! I love Karen's work. I'll have to check this out! Thanks Barb.

I like yours best, I love the way you have softened the light and everything. Yo have captured the man relaxing and cool. Superb!
