My Favorite Doll- after a bit more work

Hi, Well you will understand this completely if you are an artist, you think a painting is done you photograph it and post it and then, you see things wrong. Not that there is ever the "perfect" painting but you really do need to look at them for a while sometimes. Anyway, when I posted this a couple posts back I thought "wow, her head looks big". So I spend a bit more time on it and like it better now, "I think", lol. So yes you have seen this before but hopefully the small changes makes a difference, it does to me. Have a great weekend!

Well thank you Jo, I think I like her now. Nice of you to visit. :)

Yes, I think you improved it - it's such a sweet painting! I often think I should put each painting on the computer before posting and make corrections. Unfortunately, I don't. It is a good way to see it differently.

Oh definitely beautifully proportioned now. Why do we always discover these 'glitches' after we've posted? You've also darkened the darks and that's also made the world of difference. She's really lovely Barbara.

Hi Linda, Thanks, it really does help to look at them on your computer, should have looked at this one better before I posted it the first time. Oh well, all among friends. :)

Thank you Liz, glad you see improvement. I guess we all do it, sometimes I know my photography isn't the best. I always think they look better in person.

Nice soft Impressionistic work, Barbara. I know that I must start painting looser too!

Well done Barbara! I like the feeling of this. Are you using natural light for your photography? That can make quite a difference.

Hi Marie, My group painted quick studies today. It was fun, we set up still lifes and you had to complete it in one hour. That will loosen you up. You should try it.

Hi Lisa, Glad you like it. I have tried all different things, shooting outside, under a light , by a window. I use a tri-pod and set the timer, some are better than others.

This is beautiful Barbara! Great emotion captured between the girl and the doll!

Hi Anita, So nice to have you visit. This painting grew on me the longer I worked on it, I like it pretty well now too. I appreciate your nice comment.

Soft, sensitive and beautiful! It certainly looks ok now. Love that little loose wisp, the beads in her hair and her interest in her sleeping doll! Precious!

So happy you like it Rosemary, I think I am happy with it now too but so nice to have your kind words of encouragement.
