Plein air & a palette knife

Hi there, I painted this outside last week on location and then brought it home and had a great time adding lots of texture and color with a palette knife. This is a sweet town called Loveland Ohio, I attend an event every June there called Paint the Town. We paint in and around town and on the final day we have a wet paint sale for two hours.

I very busy, Thursday night my painting group will be at a park opening with some of our art and painting on site and then this weekend one of our gals has a nice weekend home about 1 1/2 hrs. away and we are heading over there to paint and spend the night.

I have to say I have really enjoyed plein air painting this year more than ever, I jokingly say "outside bad , inside good" lol. Of course when the weather gets hotter and the bugs really come out I will probably stay in.

You've totally captured the charm of the place, Barbara. Really, really nice.

Great painting and sounds like fun. I did a Paint the Town once in Nova Scotia. So much fun....

What a cute town, Barbara!I think I have read the name somewhere! I can see that it has a relaxed atmosphere that is so good for painting. I hope you had coffee in that pleasant place under the umbrellas!

Hi Marie, Thank you, cute town with the perfect name. Actually a crazy busy little town, there is a bike trail that goes through the middle of it and lots of traffic. Had to paint around the cars, lol.

This is lovely Barbara! Wonderful colours and a palette knife can be such fun! Also loved your Gorman Farm painting which I missed - you guys paint too fast for me!!

Hi Liz, you paint pretty fast yourself, ha. It was fun to get out that palette knife, I should use it more.
