Still life-antique tea pot

Hello, I painted this Monday from a set up, I went very dark with the background and like the effect. Once varnished the darks in this will look great, darks in a oil painting really dry flat until they are varnished. This is oil on a 8 x 10 stretched canvas. Once dry I will varnish it with Soluvar varnish, a quality varnish by Liquitex.

I recently posted a few paintings on Etsy again, Ebay really slows down in the summer. Do you have luck with either or do you have some other place you like to list?

Lovely tea pot, Barbara. I'm relatively new on Etsy and have't had any luck there yet. Haven't done eBay at all. I guess I really need to get into some local art shows. I did recently sell two paintings at work however. It was exciting for me.

Thank you Carol, recently did two still lifes with different teapots, I'll post that one soon. We just have to try everything as artists if we want to sell. Nice to recoup some of the expense and so wonderful to have someone want to live with your art. Congrats on your sales.

Barb, this look great from what I saw at MAP. Hope you didn't fool with the highlights, they were the best part. Bring it back to the group so we can see it complete.

Hi there Don, I don't think I did much more to it after I brought it home, glad you like it. I'll try to remember to bring it Monday.
