Catching the Light

Hello there, I painted this one last week from a set up. Tried to keep things dark and have the sunflower on the right catch most of the light. Oil on a 8 x 10 stretched canvas. I met Debra Bryant today while on vacation in Florida, she is a wonderful artist and although I felt I already knew her it was great to meet her in person. I have made so many wonderful online artist friends, I wish I could meet them all. Thank you Debra for your hospitality and of course the rum balls, yum!

Love how you've caught the light on the petals of the sunflower Barb. And the glazed feeling to the vase.

Barbara, this is absolutely beautiful! Love how the light grabs your attention, then subtlely recedes to the dark background. Wonderful!

These still life studies are really great Barbara - love the greens you've achieved in this and that sunflower reflects the light perfectly.
