Kings Mansion

Hello there, This painting is in acrylics and painted from a reference photo I took last week while walking around the grounds of the Kings mansion. This house is in Kings Mills Ohio. Kings Mills is now the home of the amusement park called Kings Island but the little old community has lots of history. It was a company town and the gentleman that owned this house basically owned the town. The business that kept the town going was a ammunition factory on the edge of town but that building no longer exists. However just on the other side of the river is the Peter's Catridge company, a huge old basically vacant building. Peter's Cartride Co. was a massive munitions factory that made bullets and cannonballs for the Union army during the civil war. It was a target for Morgan Raiders but rumor has it they missed Kings Mills completely in 1863 during their trip through Ohio. Anyway there is your history lesson for the day.lol Here is a photo of my painting, a small portion of the side of the house and a photo of Peter's factory as it looks today. Check out some of my artwork on Ebay Have a wonderful day
