View of the Lake
Hello Friends, I painted this from a reference photo I took while camping last year. I looked through my reference photos for a scene I could paint in this style. I wanted it to be colorful and for the viewer to see the strokes. Thisi acrylics on a 8" X 10" stretched canvas. I enjoy looking at it, hope you do too.
I recently ordered a selection of Golden Open acrylics. I haven't received them yet but I'll report back on how I like them. They say you can work with them for up to 3 hours I think and it takes 24 hours for them to dry on your canvas. Not sure I will like them for detail work where I go over and over things but for backgrounds that I want modeled or maybe subjects like this?

Have a wonderful day

Excellent painting, Barbara!!! Love the light and wonderful sky!
Thanks Hilda, it was fun to paint something bright and saturated like this.
Gorgeous work, Barbara, and impressive to me that you could work so well from a photo, which I think is so hard to do. I look forward to hearing what you think of the Golden OPENS.
Hi Meredith, I work from photos some, sometimes I find it necessary. Working from life is the best but we don't always have that opportunity do we? I'll let you know about the new acrylics soon.
