Workshop with Shelby Keefe
Hello there! I recently went to Fish Creek Wisconsin for a four day workshop with Shelby Keefe. Google her if you are not familiar with her work, she is an impressionist and the theme of the workshop was painting from photos. I loved it and plan to make several changes in my work. One thing she does is tone her canvases in bright exciting colors. She spends a long time on her sketch and I am slowing down. Also I really want to think about my brushwork, lay down clean color and leave it alone. Here are the four paintings I did during the workshop. The week after I got home I went on a plein air trip with one of my groups and I got to put some of the things I learned into practice.

Sunflowers in Ball Jar
Hi there! sorry I haven't been posting on a regular basis. Pretty quiet on the blog front theses days. I bought some fresh sunflowers at the grocery the other night and put them in my favorite green Ball jar. This is oil on a 8"x 10" panel. Also I painted this on my youtube channel if you would like to watch, just search by my name. Stay well!

Cemetery Painting
I painted the other day in our local cemetery. This is not the painting I did there, I did this on my Youtube channel. I took this photo that day and knew immediately when I took it I wanted to paint it. This is oil on a 8" x 10" canvas. Some great artists have done amazing paintings of cemeterys through out the years, Richard Schmid is one. So happy the weather is getting nice enough to paint out, of course our 17 year cicadas will be back soon and they will run me in lol.
have a wonderful day!

Bronze Baby Shoes
Over the years I have painted baby shoes over and over. They're just precious and I am drawn to them. Painted this last night from life, oil on a 5" x 7" panel. Sorry I have not posted much lately, blogs have pretty much went by the wayside sadly. It is kind of a journal of our work however so I keep posting. I hope this finds you well and happy. ❤️❤️

A few of the pet commissions I did recently
It is the time of the year that I am normally busy with pet commissions. I have had a few this year but like most of us all of my shows were cancelled this year. Not complaining, we are healthy and nothing is more important than that. I hope this finds all of you happy and healthy. All my best to you.

Peonies
Hi there! I’ve kept busy painting throughout the quarantine, I have done a lot of plein air mostly in my car and I paint a lot on my YouTube channel. I posted and painted this one last night on YouTube. I love peonies, they’re complicated but I tried to keep them painterly and paint them in an impressionistic style. I think they feel like peonies. This is oil on a 8” x 10” panel. If you would like to see me paint it you can search for my by my name Barbara Pask.

My favorite paintings of 2019
I picked out some of my favorite paintings from this year and grouped them together here. I tried to go through and count the number of paintings I did this year, I believe it’s about 60 or so. Of course I do paint small ones for shows and I didn’t complete anything larger than an 16” x 20” this year. Here’s to the new year, wishing all of you a happy healthy artful new year. Hugs

Boots
Hi there! I’ve been very busy. I have several pet commissions going at once and I’ve also been painting on YouTube some. Not complaining at all, hoping I’ll get a lot more pet commissions as the holiday gets closer. This is a pair of my hubby’s boots, they were a lot of fun to paint, they’re oil on a 8” x 10” panel. Painted on YouTube if you search by my name, can’t seem to get links to post on here anymore. Have a good day!

Plein Air
Hi! Hubby and I visited Hocking County Ohio this week and stayed several nights in this sweet cabin. The weather was so nice I decided to set up and paint the cabin. I recorded and posted the video to YouTube, I’ll try my best to post the link here but you can find me by searching my name. So good of you to visit me. ❤️
