Good Morning, I finished this last night, it's a portrait of my niece. I've only painted like two portraits so I think I'm improving. I'm trying to use darker colors in the face, I think the first few I did were too washed out. One of my other nieces is coming over to day, she's going to let me take a lot of photos of her. Hoping to get some good reference material. Let me know how I did. Take care. Barb

HI Barbara!
Thanks for visiting my blog the other day...I checked out your work on your blog too and it is wonderful!!! Portraits can be very challenging and you look like you are taking the "bull by the horns!" Keep up the good work!
I also checked out your other daily painting site...I wanna join!
Hi Jennifer, I'm so glad you stopped by and thank you for the complement. It's a struggle sometimes but I just keep fighting it. You should join Daily Painters Markeplace, you just have to ask permission and it's free. Just another way to get your art out there.
Thanks for the tip!
Happy painting!
Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your nice comment on my blog! I do love painting so much, and I can see you do as well. :) I've only painted a few portraits so far...plan on doing more, but it's a scary subject. You have really nice skin tones here. That was a challenge for me.
Hi Molly, Thanks for visiting. I'm new to this portrait thing too and the skin tones are hard to figure out. I have watched people paint portraits and I'm always shocked how dark the darks are. I'll keep trying.
