Portrait

Hi Everyone,  I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.  I painted this today, it is in oil on a 8 X 10 Raymar panel.  A couple of weeks ago Susan Carlin painted this little girl on her Ustream show.  It is a photo taken from the Wetcanvas photo library.  This is a different photo of the same little girl and I just loved the one Susan did so I wanted to try my hand at it.  I did take on a last minute commission right before Christmas and I am buying myself a studio easel with the money, woo hoo!  Love new art supplies!  Happy New Year to all of you.

Hi Pattie, I should have looked at her for a few days probably before I posted her, I may have to go back and play with it a bit. Hard to call them done. Glad you like her though.

Hi Dean, Thank you for your good wishes and I am glad you like my painting. If you came back to read my response I worked on the painting a bit more and reposted the photo. I raised her hair up a bit and I feel better about it now. "now" it is done. lol

Hey Peggy, Glad you like my little gal, so fun to paint. I am excited about my new easel, I don't have room but that didn't stop me, lol.

Oh Barbara she is so precious! And a new easel - isn't shopping for art supplies just so much more satisfying than shopping for anything else?

Hi Liz, Thank you so much. Yes, I would rather shop for art supplies than anything else. I can dress like a bum but I have to have my new art supplies, lol.

This is a truly beautiful painting Barbara. I especially love the fly away effect of the hair and overall softness. All the best with the new easel - I just got one for my birthday!
