Hello, I just walked in from my weekend portrait workshop. Lots of nice people and a Cincinnati artist named Carin Hebinstreit was the teacher. We had a model both days and we painted a 16 X 20 painting of her. I probably will post it soon. It went pretty good, she is new at giving workshops and tried very hard to help everyone. I don't think any of us nailed her image exactly but I think I did pretty well. Have to rest and think about what exactly I learned, I think we teach ourselves the most by just painting all the time. This painting I did last week, it is oil on a 8 X 10 canvas panel from a Wetcanvas image. Have a good day

Barb, having never seen the model, I'm going to say it's a beautiful painting, that rings true. Thanks for your visit. I appreciate your encouragement.
Thanks Mary, It was painted from a black and white photo, probably not the best reference but still fun to paint. Thanks for your visit and nice words. :)
Good painting, Barbara! Great job of supplying your own colors..I think one learns a lot by doing that.
You must recognize this photo as the black and white it was. Since the workshop I am trying some new colors for skin tones, hopefully will be an improvement.
