Hi there, I just love the work of Carolyn Anderson , her portraits are very loose and wonderful. Your focus is on the face where it should be with just enough detail so you know what you are looking at. So looking at one of her paintings I painted this for practice, a good way through I quit looking at her painting and made adjustments I felt it needed. I have copied Old Masters and think it is a good way to really study how someone paints. I may try one of my grandson in the style and see how that goes. This is oil on a 8 X 10 canvas panel and is not available for purchase.

I love her paintings too. Great work, Barb!
Thanks Irene. I thought if I painted one of hers I could get a better understanding of how she paints. Sometimes her background is the lightest value in the painting.
I like her work as well. I took a workshop with her in New Mexico. A great experience. Thips piece does have a little feel of her style.
Wow Bill, I would love to take a workshop with her, lucky you. Did it change the way you paint?
This is lovely Barbara. So free and light!
Thanks so much Liz, I like that "free and light"
Pretty!! I like this a lot!
Hi Susan, Thanks so much. Hope you enjoy your workshop. :)
