Hello there, I have decided maybe I should paint several somewhat larger pieces to have on hand. I have a art show in February and I think the larger pieces are a bit more impressive. This is large for me anyway, 16 x 20 which is really not large at all. I painted this on a 8 x 10 canvas recently so you may recognize it. I have started a new project, there is a local gallery near here that is having a juried competition. It has to be our interpretation of Klimt's painting The Kiss. I'll let you know how that goes, maybe I'll photograph stages of the painting as I go along. I have taken a few weeks off Ebay with the holidays and all. I hope your holiday projects are going well.

HI Bill, Both of these photos are the same painting, guess that is confusing. The one is just a close up version. Guess I made it sound that way, sorry. The first one is the painting in whole. Maybe I will pull the close up photo. If it is gone when you come back you will know what happened, lol. Yes, we do seem to share an enjoyment for painting these old houses. Ain't it great? lol

Congratulations and best wishes for the February show! This piece is really nice. Your lacy trees remind me of Roger Bansemer's! How do you get that little glow behind the green? Did you tone the canvas? Lovely shadows on the house too!

Hi there Rosemary, Thank you for your nice comment. I did tone the canvas with burnt sieana and allowed a lot of that color to show through. I like the all over glow it gives.
