Hi! This was fun to paint, I added lots of texture with a palette knife at then end to suggest hair. Sheep and goats have creepy eyes don't they? lol I had those yellow eyes painted in with those horizontal pupils and then I decided to darken the eyes and just suggest them, I like them better. This is oil on a 6 x 6 Raymar panel.

Barbara, your sheep is sooooo cute.
Thank you so much Carol. :)
I love this Barbara! Especially all the colors in the wool. And you're right about the eyes, I've always felt the same way. Creepy! I like what you've done with them here. :)
What a soft sweety pie!
Thanks Crystal, I think it's so fun to paint white, adding colors to make it interesting. Glad you don't find his eyes so creepy, lol.
Thank you Charlotte, you're sweet.
I like your knife work! :)
This is precious Barb! Soft and warm and cuddly - great colors and the textures you achieved with the knife are super!
Thank you Teresa!
Thank you very much Rosemary, such nice comments.
You painted this beautifully, Barbara! Love the texture and color!!
Thank you Hilda, good of you to visit. :)
Love your sheep, Barbara! had to laugh though at your description of their eyes. I raised dairy goats for many years and always thought they had the friendliest eyes. But then I was always "up front and personal" with my goats :)
Sorry Sunny, maybe if I got to know some sheep on a personal basis I might not feel that way, lol. So good to see you. :)
I love the loose brushwork. That sheep is really awesome. Beautiful work.
Thank you Shelley, so nice of you to visit and take time to comment.
Love this Barb. Beautiful colors and a good feeling for the soft texture of the sheep! He looks warm and fuzzy.
Thanks so much Anita, he was fun to paint. He, she?? not sure, lol
I love this, Barbara - the texture you achieved is amazing! And it is so charming!
Thank you very much Connie, I think I should paint more animals.
