Loveland Ohio

Hi there, I have had a busy week so I haven't painted much or posted just lately. The 4th of July holiday was this past week and I had company staying with me for a few days. I am ready to paint something, maybe today's the day, lol. I painted this last Thursday night in Loveland Ohio, a very sweet town not too far off. Southwestern Ohio Plein Air Society was there to paint and I decided to join them. I sat up in front of the Historical Society and painted their gazebo. I painted about 2 1/2 hours until I got tired of the flys biting me, insect repellent does not stop them. I say plein air is not for wimps and if you do it you know what I mean. This is acrylic on a 8 x 10 stretched canvas. I simplified the details and I think I like it. Thank you for visiting me and have a wonderful day.

A wonderful painting, Barbara.!! It's a shame that the bugs bother you for the time you are painting! In my neighborhood they are out and biting! the humid weather brings them out even more! They are relentless and feel like they have huge teeth!!

Worth it to brave the bug bites if this is the result (at least for your viewers)! I especially like the color you choose for the shadow of the ceiling part of inside the dome. Phew. Hope that makes sense. Oh dear, the teeny little blurry numbers are back on the "prove you're not a robot" thingy.

Thank you Hilda. The older I get the more I want to be comfortable, Not too warm, not too cold and not chewed on by bugs, lol

Hi Meredith, I hate those blurry numbers and letters, sometimes I get them wrong several times, lol. Thanks so much for the nice comment, I felt the color inside the roof felt like reflected light.

Hope you had a great holiday and going through your blog you've been doing some great flowers and still lifes, but I still love your buildings - in any form!
