New painting ~ still life
Hello there, I paint with a gal that brought me two old violins and she had planned to throw out. They are both missing parts but I was so excited because I always wanted to paint one. I chose the better of the two and it is a wonderful red color. I painted it once, didn't like the set up so I painted it out and tried it again. I added a close up photo so you can see how the tulip reflects in the strings. This is acrylic on a 11" x 14" canvas. I plan to enter it in the members show of the Cincinnati Woman's Art Club. Thinking a gold frame?? Enjoy your day

Bonjour,
Vous avez offert à ce violon une belle fin de vie en le peignant... Il a une âme qui respire dans votre peinture. Il semble murmurer les doux sons qu'il avait pu transmettre en les permutant dans vos nuances de belles couleurs.
Gros bisous
This is really lovely Barbara! The violinist has laid down the instrument to arrange the flower they just received...heartstrings being tugged here!
Love it!
Thank you for your beautiful words Martine and thank you so much for taking time to comment. Hugs
Oh thank you Marilyn, I love how you find a story in my work. Someone suggested "Fragrant Pause" for the name and that fits your story well too.
WOW! this is a beautiful piece, Barbara! You captured the wood perfectly!
Thanks Hilda, I am loving painting wood. I think I like the warmth in it the most.
