Teddy & Blooms

Hi there, I think some paintings go together like a puzzle. I always try to plan them out and I mostly paint from life. This painting started out with the vase of flowers and a couple of pumpkins, I painted it from a set up with my Monday group. I liked the flowers but wasn't feeling the pumpkins so I thought what would work well there. I have had this little teddy for years and have painted it before and thought lets try that. I am pretty happy with it and wanted your focus to be on the bear as I think it is. The only thing I would have changed if I had set this up to paint is I would have placed the bear in front of the flowers. This is acrylic on a 11 x 14 stretched canvas. Thank you so much for visiting me, I love your comments. Hugs

Barbara, this is great. I think the bear works very well behind the vase. I like it!

I love it! I think you have nailed each and every texture in your set-up and just love the colors you reflected into the the glass. And all in Acrylic! Bravo!

What a fantastic comment Meredith, thank you! I feel great about the results I get with acrylics, you know the challenges well.

Hi Barbara,

I think you nailed it and the vase is beautiful! Great job with acrylics. I still find them frustrating! I haven't been around the blog scene for a while but I just posted a new painting (finally).
