Chasing the light

Hello Friends! Tonight I looked out on my deck and the setting sun was hitting a pot of red geraniums.  I had this urge to try and catch that wonderful glow hitting the edge of the blooms. My hubby laughed as I ran through the house collecting my painting gear.  I set up on the deck and captured this in maybe twenty minutes. This is oil on a 8" x 10" stretched canvas.  How'd I do?

So great of you to stop by

Barb, my smile for the day. The red caught my eye right away and I love to paint geraniums. Great job!

I really like this Barb, you captured the essence of the geraniums wonderfully. But 8x10" in 20 minutes???? And oils???? I think I have missed (or forgotten) something here...my dear acrylic friend has branched out!

Meredith for years I painted only in oils and then maybe the last two years found that I love acrylics too. Since my last workshop I have been using mostly oils. Gosh I just love it all!

Barbara, I guess it's within the last two years that I met you, so I met you during your "acrylics stage." It's good to be versatile!
