Hi, I painted this sweet little girl from an image on Wetcanvas. I have really been enjoying painting little girls lately. I feel like I haven't accomplished a lot this week. I started a painting Monday of a man with dredlocks, my first dreds, lol. Anyway I worked on that painting two more times after that until last night when I wiped off the canvas. I know it happens and I just have to move on. Painting is so challenging and that is part of the draw to it I guess. I did purchase a new dvd called Classical Portrait Painting with Lajos Markos. I have watched it twice, he makes painting portraits look easy. I guess if was it easy to do we wouldn't appreciate the paintings that seem to go right. I hope you are a happy painter today, have to take it a day at a time don't we?

Absolutely right, Barb...we all have those days...but even failing is learning.
I like this portrait. Warm colors and soft edges work well here.
Hi Dean, That is what I try to tell myself, it's a learning experience. Glad you like this, I liked the bright light on her face.
Hi Barb
I love the soft focus look of this painting, very feminine. Just lovely.
Thank you Jan, I wasn't sure of the background because it is a similar value to the face but I kind of liked it. Just keep trying different things.
Beautiful colors Barb! Very soft and sensitive. I too, love the challenge of painting. I only wish I had more time to paint!
Hi Neetzy, Glad you like my little puffy cheeked gal. I am lucky that I do have a lot of time to paint, it's a luxury. You'll have more time some day.
