Hi, I painted this looking at a painting by Edouard Manet titled Berthe Morisot. I brought it up on my monitor and it isn't an exact reproduction just my take on it. I have always loved this painting. I really like her interesting hat. When you google for the image one can look very different from the other as far as the amount of detail you see and the color in the painting. This is oil on a 8 X 10 stretched canvas. I submitted two paintings at a gallery here in town. It is a juried show and if I get accepted it will hang until the beginning of January. I'll let you know, keeping my fingers crossed. See you soon

It's really terrific, Barb.
Thanks so much Dar <3
Terrific work...
I love doing paintings "after" the masters... makes them come even more to life ...
Good luck on the show!!!
Hi Marian, I did enjoy painting this, nice to re-create a painting that you love. Thanks for the good wishes
Very nice! Good luck I will cross my fingers!
Barb, this painting turned out great! You really captured her expression.
I've not been able to check in much lately, but wow, you've been busy! Love this painting and especially the one of your grandson. you've captured the essence of "little boy" perfectly :)
Hi Pattie, Thank you so much
Hi Shelley, She has a sweet face doesn't she? Glad you like it.
Hi Bev, Nice of you to visit, I am always busy. I have been enjoying your post about your workshop, look forward to some photos later on.
Barb this is beautiful! What an
impression.
That soft smile warm gaze has me
taking a closer look. Wow!
You are so sweet Bill, thank you very much.
Barbara, great piece. Nice brushwork, too.
Good luck on the show! Your grandson looks like a handful.
Hi there Jo, thanks so much. The grandson is such a good boy, I could say we are lucky but he has good parents that don't put up with bad behavior. Makes it a joy to have him around. Hope things are good with you.
Stunning work! I love it! Did it get accepted?
Hi Carol, This wasn't one of the pieces I submitted, it probably did sound that way. One piece was accepted, it was a piece I posted a little while ago called "Waiting for the wife". The man on the bench with his dogs. Eighty some pieces were submitted for the show and they only accepted 40.
