Well she is finished. I put her into the frame I bought but I'll take it back out in a bit to varnish it. I hung it in my bedroom , she is quite impressive because of the size. It was a good experience, I could have projected the image on the canvas and there isn't anything wrong with that method. However I get some satisfaction knowing that I just sketched it on and made adjustments as I went along. Again the canvas is 24 X 30, the largest I've painted. I know she isn't exactly Sargeant's Lady Agnew but she is my version of it and that's ok. A funny note, this is the largest face I've painted and as I painted her eyes it was like she was looking at me, lol. I carried my grandson in my studio to show him the painting and when we got very close to the painting he kind of gasped, I think he felt she was looking at him too. Hope you like it.

Hi Barb,
Nice job, and an accomplishment.
Thank you so much Debra and I appreciate you checking in on me.
Way to go Barb, you did a great job on this. Now are you going to continue in the large size?
I appreciate that so much Bill. I did enjoy painting large, I have two more canvases this size waiting for me.
Well done, Barb, she is a lovely lady. There is a lot of life in her eyes.
Thank you Dar, I am learning to spend more time on the eyes and adding more detail to them. I am continually learning.
BRAVO..especially for "no projection". Richard Schmid opines that projection is blasphemy! lol..I quite agree.. that your painting would not have the verve that it does if you had been slavish to the original.
I appreciate your comments Celeste. I was more of a challenge this way but also more of a feeling of accomplishment when I completed it.
Quite nice, Barbara. Good for you. Are you starting another large piece or going to try something smaller?
Thank you , I don't have any plans to start another large one any time soon. I have been painting my usual sizes 8x10 and 11x14. So glad you like it.
Well well,good for you,Barb
The challenge of the subject, makes the artist brush flow to the canvas
with accomplishment, which then completes the painting with satisfaction to the mind.
Job well done.
Happy Brushing,theartbrush.
Thank you so much Pete for your nice words. I really enjoyed painting it. Appreciate you stopping by.
Finally remembered and came to visit... It looks wonderful and loved the idea you put another face in her. With a big canvas, a bet it looks impressive in person. Makes me want to paint "my" Lady Agnew too.
Thank you WCaro, Glad you like how it came out. It is more impressive in person because of the size. You should paint your Lady Agnew, I recommend it.
Sorry, I have been away (just tried to post - and D+++?/@@@ computer acted up so you may get two of these) travel has taken up too much time. Lady Agnew is ROYAL! Nice going! I really like her eyes! Well worth all the hard work you did! Bravo!
I appreciate that Pattie, I'm so glad you remembered to check back on me. I was a challenge that I really enjoyed.
