Poppies ~ mixed media

Hi! I know it is hard to see from the photo but this is a mixed media piece. I first applied acid free paper with musical notes and some of that shows through here and there. This painting began as yellow daffodils and I just wasn't feeling them. I went back in and painted poppies over them and left some of the yellow here and there. I like it so much better now, I try not to let it bother me when a painting doesn't work and try to use it as a learning experience. As I type this I know that isn't quite true, I think as artists we want them all to turn out. I have to admit I sleep better at night when I have a good day painting, lol. Crazy, huh? I know you understand if you paint. I have started a new larger still life, I applied a patterned paper to the canvas first. I am having so much fun with mixed media, can you tell?
